Emacs can actually do everything. But well, let's start with the disadvantages, yes, it can lead to severe finger contortions. And the little finger of the left hand, usually neglected, will not come to rest. Some piano playing experience can be helpful. The syndrome of the aching little finger is known as Emacs pinky.
But such small issues are outweighed by the advantages. For example, a trained little finger. ;) Or the fact that Emacs is particularly adaptable and user-friendly, and thanks to syntax highlighting, lots of extensions, and support for all conceivable languages and scripts, it is simply fun to program with it.
